Technical Superintendent

As a Technical Superintendent, you will play a key role in ensuring the technical, operational and nautical safety of our fleet, whilst maintaining full compliance with global maritime regulations and safety standards. In this high-impact role, you will work closely with a team of experienced maritime professionals to drive the success and efficiency of our shipping operations.
Your team will consist of 13 colleagues of different nationalities, with English as the primary working language. As well as being a collaborative team member with a good sense of humour, you will be able to work independently and bring the knowledge and skills needed to help MF Shipping Group grow.
What will you be doing?
- Monitor and ensure the technical and operational performance of assigned vessels.
- Conduct regular inspections, identify maintenance needs and coordinate repairs and dry-docking.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely procurement of spare parts, equipment and services.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards and environmental requirements.
- Develop and maintain maintenance plans, budgets and technical documentation.
- Provide technical support and guidance to on-board personnel in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Coordinate and supervise third party contractors and service providers.
- Keep abreast of industry developments and technological advances to propose innovative solutions.
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor and analyse vessel performance data to identify opportunities for optimisation.
Who we are looking for?
- A minimum of five years' work experience or expertise directly related to the responsibilities and requirements of the Superintendent role in the maritime industry.
- A bachelor's degree in marine engineering, naval architecture or a related field is an advantage.
- Sailing experience as 2nd Engineer/Chief Engineer or dual officer in similar ranks.
- Strong knowledge of marine engineering, ship systems and relevant regulations.
- Familiarity with cement carriers and tankers is an advantage.
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to travel to vessels and shipyards.
