Successful launch of the Thun Resource
At a celebratory event at the shipyard in Leer, Germany, the Thun Resource was launched on 10 November 2023.
Resource-efficient ship
The Thun Resource is the first of a series of six 'R-class' sister vessels to be built by Ferus Smit BV. The next deliveries are scheduled from 2024. Designed with a focus on resource efficiency and environmental friendliness, the vessel will be chartered by the oil company Nynas AB for five years after delivery.
The innovative design includes adaptive propulsion, shore power capabilities, UPS battery pack and the latest resource-efficient machinery.

The launch of the Thun Resource marks an important milestone in our collaboration with Thun Tankers and Shipyard Ferus Smit BV. We are proud of our role as newbuilding supervisor and future ship manager of these state-of-the-art vessels, which not only meet today's standards but also contribute to a sustainable future for shipping.
