Successful launch of the Thun Reliance
The newest member of the MF Shipping Group fleet
On 3 May, the Thun Reliance was successfully launched at the Ferus Smit shipyard in Leer, Germany. This is the 22nd tanker to be managed by MF Shipping Group. The first tanker of the R-class series was launched in November 2023 and six more tankers are on order.
The christening was performed by a representative of Preem AB, the leading Swedish fuel company, who will charter the vessel after delivery. Built by the craftsmen of Ferus Smit BV, the Thun Reliance represents a new era of advanced and sustainable marine technology.
Like its predecessor in the 'R-Class' series, the Thun Reliance is equipped with state-of-the-art features to maximise resource efficiency and promote environmental friendliness. These include adaptive propulsion, shore power capability, UPS battery pack and the latest energy saving technologies.
